Petar Zanev has started working as a coordinator at CSKA, the club officially announced, BNR reported.
The former prominent defender will monitor and support the development of young football players from the first, second and third teams of the "army" and their transition between the individual selections. He will maintain close interaction with the director and coaching teams of the CSKA Academy.
Zanev was born in Gotse Delchev on October 18, 1985. He started his football career as a full-back in his hometown, then went through the schools of Septemvri (Simitli) and Pirin (Blagoevgrad). He made his debut for the first team of the "eagles" at only 17 years old, and in 2005 he moved to Litex (Lovech). In the 2007/2008 season he played in Spain, after which he returned to Litex again, with whom he became the champion of Bulgaria twice. Between 2012 and 2018 he played in Ukraine and Russia, and in the summer of 2019 he signed with CSKA. For two seasons with the "red" team, Petar Zanev took part in 60 matches and scored one goal. He became the winner of the Bulgarian Cup in the 2020/2021 season. He ended his active career in Pirin. He has 46 matches for the Bulgarian national team.
After the end of his football career, he held various managerial and administrative positions in Pirin (Blagoevgrad).
