Slovenian referee Slavko Vincich, who will referee the big derby of Turkish football Galatasaray – Fenerbahce on Monday, will receive a 10 thousand euro fee for the match itself and a separate 800 euro daily allowance, the famous journalist Serkan Korkmaz announced on his profile on the social network X, BTA reported.
Korkmaz referred to a source from the Turkish Football Federation, but did not want to specify what level the person is at.
Vincich will arrive in Istanbul on Sunday and leave immediately after the match for Ljubljana, which means 1600 euro daily allowance. His two assistants will receive smaller, but undisclosed amounts.
Galatasaray is at the top of the Turkish Super League with 63 points, collected from 20 wins and three draws in 23 matches. Fenerbahce is in 2nd place with 57, with the team having two losses, 18 wins and three draws.
"The Yellow-Reds" from Galatasaray have been accused of serious referee support in their matches, with several striking examples, including the Adana Demirspor team leaving the field in protest. Trust in Turkish refereeing has plummeted in the last three seasons, with the start of this one marked by the engagement of referee observers from abroad to conduct referee analyses.
Vinčić – one of the best European referees at the moment, is a compatriot of the President of the European Football Association (UEFA), Aleksander Ceferin, who is considered a guarantee of correct behavior. His appointment to the derby was announced yesterday. He is also the referee who will oversee the last Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, which will be played on June 1, 2024 at the "Wembley" stadium in London.
