Russian Andrey Rublev triumphed with the title of the tennis tournament at the hard court tournament in Doha (Qatar) of the ATP 500 series, BTA reported.
Fifth-seeded Rublev defeated eighth-seeded Briton Jack Draper in the final with 7:5, 5:7, 6:1 in two hours and six minutes of play.
The title is Andrei Rublev's first this season, his second in Doha and the 17th in his career at the ATP level. The Russian previously lost in the first round of the Australian Open and failed to defend his title against Hong Kong, losing in the second round, and also reached the quarterfinals in Rotterdam and the semifinals in Montpellier.
"The feeling is incredible. It's the first time I've won the title twice at the same tournament. I'm very happy," Rublev said after the final.
The first set was extremely even and was decided by a key break by the Russian at the very end for 7:5. In the second set, Andrei Rublev led 5:4, but a series of three consecutive games followed for Jack Draper, who reached 7:5 in his favor and tied the score.
Rublev made two breaks and pulled 5:0 in the third set to secure the final victory with 6:1.
