Milan suffered a 1-2 defeat to Torino in a match from the 26th round of the Italian football championship.
An early own goal by Malik Thiau and a missed penalty by Christian Pulisic led to the loss, which left Milan in seventh place with 41 points, 15 points behind leaders Napoli and six behind fourth-placed Lazio. Torino are 11th with 31 points.
The visitors started in the worst possible way when goalkeeper Mike Meignan tried to clear the ball outside the penalty area in the 5th minute, only for it to hit defender Thiau, bounce off him and into the net.
Pulisic had a great chance to equalize for Milan just after the half-hour mark, after the visitors were awarded a penalty for handball by a home defender. But Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic read the shot perfectly, diving to his right to deny Pulisic. It was the first penalty miss of the American's career.
Milan continued to create chances throughout the match, but Milinkovic-Savic made several good saves to keep Torino ahead until Tijani Reinders equalized in the 74th minute. Torino substitute Guidas Gineitis gave his team the lead two minutes later with a low shot from a tight angle.
