Manchester United's Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes said that the players need to demand more from themselves after the "Red Devils" drew 2-2 with Everton in Saturday's Premier League clash between the two teams.
"Every point is extremely important for us now because we are in a difficult position that we shouldn't be in and unfortunately every point is going to be key for us at the moment," said the Manchester United captain.
"We have to be aware that the situation we are in is not the best. This is not where the team should be, so we have to demand more from ourselves, understanding that every point from now on will help us move forward," added Fernandes.
"We knew before the match that the opponent was in good form with the arrival of the new manager. They are among the teams that have been winning the most points recently. We are aware of how difficult the away games at "Goodison Park" are, but unfortunately we did not start the match aggressively enough and we allowed too many chances to the hosts," the Portuguese also said about Everton.
When asked what he said to his teammates at half-time, Bruno Fernandes commented on Manchester United's club television: "In matches like this you just have to be focused and try to raise your level to win whatever is possible. It was very difficult because in the first half the things we were trying to do weren't working the way we wanted. I think in the second half we had nothing to lose and we were a little more free."
