Athletic Bilbao achieved a spectacular victory over Valladolid 7:1 at home in a match from the 25th round of the Spanish football La Liga. Athletic Bilbao's players occupy fourth place in the provisional championship standings with 48 points, three behind third-placed Real Madrid, while Valladolid is last, 20th with 15 points, BTA reported.
Five of the home team's starters scored for the impressive success. Mikel Haurekisar gave the Bilbao team the lead in the tenth minute, using an assist from Nico Williams, and Williams himself made it 2:0 in the 35th minute. Athletic Bilbao's third goal was scored by Maroan Sanadi in the 43rd minute, and in the second minute of added time, Oihan Sanset scored a fourth goal against Valladolid.
Two minutes after the restart, the visitors reduced the deficit to 1:4 through Mamadou Sila, but within three minutes between the 66th and 69th minutes, Athletic Bilbao scored two more goals. In the 66th minute, Nico Williams scored his second goal of the match, and substitute Gorka Guruseta scored for 6:1. The final 7:1 was made by Iñaki Williams in the 87th minute.
Valladolid played almost the entire second half with a man less due to the second yellow and red card for Croatian midfielder Stanko Juric in the 56th minute.
