Six-time world champion Marc Marquez with Ducati won the Thai Grand Prix, the first round of the 2025 MotoGP season.

The Spaniard, who is riding for the Ducati Lenovo team for the first time this season, had a perfect weekend after winning today's main race, as well as yesterday's sprint, and in both starts he started from pole position.

Marquez completed 26 laps of the "Buriram" track in 39 minutes and 37.244 seconds. His only competition was his brother Alex Marquez, who rides for Gresini Racing (also riding a Ducati). The younger of the Marquez brothers finished second, 1.732 seconds behind.

Marc Marquez's teammate Francesco Banaia finished in third place. The Italian was 2.398 seconds behind the winner's time.

Unlike yesterday's sprint race, in which Marc Marquez led from start to finish, today he had to fight with his brother Alex almost to the very end. Marc started off well and had a solid lead, but a technical problem slowed him down and allowed Alex to overtake him. However, the damage was not serious and Marc was able to continue the race, overtaking his brother on lap 23 to take the win. Alex didn't have the pace to compete with his brother, but he did enough to hold on to second place ahead of Banaya.

Fourth was Italian Franco Morbidelli of VR46 (Ducati engine), who was almost three seconds off the podium. Fifth was Japanese Ai Ogura of Trackhouse MotoGP (Aprilia), and sixth was Italian Marco Bedzecki of Aprilia Racing.

In the general classification, Marc Marquez leads with 37 points, ahead of Alex Marquez with 29 and Francesco Banaya with 23. Fourth is Franco Morbidelli with 18 points, and fifth is Ai Ogura with 17.

The next round of MotoGP is in two weeks at the Argentine Grand Prix.
