Inter Milan was close to winning against Napoli, but conceded a late equalizer and Inter coach Simone Inzaghi reported the injuries in the squad as the main reason for the 1:1 draw, BTA reported.
Inzaghi, whose team remains in the lead and one point ahead of Napoli, was without starting goalkeeper Jan Sommer, defender Matteo Darmian and midfielders Carlos Augusto and Nikola Zalewski, and in the second half, the top scorer for Inter in the match, Federico Dimarco and Hakan Calhanoglu, were forced to leave.
"The injuries definitely had an impact. We were already in an emergency situation, Dimarco and Calhanoglu asked for substitutions after the first half," Inzaghi replied.
"They tried to hold out a bit, but they couldn't. This is the moment for injuries, the boys gave their all against an excellent team that made it very difficult for us in the second half. We will accept the draw. We could have done better for the equalizer, we will review and analyze", he added.
"The battle for the title is open. Lazio and Juventus can also get back in the race, but I'm confident," Inzaghi said.
