Head coach Julio Velasquez praised the entire Levski team for the character shown in the match against CSKA-Sofia, after the "blues" scored two late goals for a 2:2 draw. The main credit for the private turnaround was Iliyan Stefanov, who came on in the first minute of added time, scored in the sixth and assisted Aldair in the 13th, BTA reported.
Asked if Stefanov was the key player for Levski, Velasquez replied: "For me, the most important thing is to praise the entire team. I am very pleased with everyone, because we did not deserve to lose this match. Honestly, if we have to analyze the match in its entirety, it was largely equal. Maybe we played a little better than the opponent. My team didn't give up and in the end we ended up as the better team."
"From my first day, these guys have shown responsibility. Yes, I'm happy with Stefanov, but that goes for everyone. It was incredible how we caught up in the score and I want to thank both the team and the fans for that. They behaved wonderfully.
"For us, the football aspect is also important, as are the values. These are work, effort, responsibility and never giving up. We're working on that during the week. I'm very happy with all the players, because their level was high until the last second. And I'm very, very happy with Stefanov. He's an exceptional guy who went through a period of injuries."
