Android Auto update wreaks havoc on the system - 1

As reported by Autoevolution, drivers claim that updating Android Auto to the latest version has proved fatal for the app in their cars as the system no longer loads on the car screen. A similar problem exists when the media receiver tries to detect a smartphone.

Both the wired and wireless versions of Android Auto have reportedly crashed, while the system was working normally before the update. Some of the owners decided to "reset" system to factory settings, but that didn't help either.

Judging by user messages on Google's forums, the problem affects most drivers, regardless of their car brand and smartphone. At the same time, there is currently no algorithm to resolve this system crash.

It's likely that if the problem really occurred with the latest Android Auto update, rolling back to the previous version should help fix it. Meanwhile, Google remained silent and did not comment on the cause of the problem. A forum moderator and community specialist say the Android Auto team needs more information to investigate the issue.
