The advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kursk region has slowed down. The military is trying to fortify and hold onto certain areas it recently took control of. This is stated in another report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), reports RBC-Ukraine.
According to Russian military bloggers, the rate of attacks by the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region has slowed down. Ukrainian armed forces are trying to hold and strengthen certain areas.
Other military bloggers claim that Russian troops are gradually stabilizing the situation in the Kursk region. Geolocated footage released on August 28 shows Russian troops operating in the eastern village of Korenevo. This indicates that Ukrainian armed forces have probably recently withdrawn from the area and Russian troops have regained some lost ground.
A Russian military blogger claims that Ukrainian troops have advanced past the villages of Vetreno, Kremyanoe, and Sheptuhovka (all east and northeast of Korenevo); within eastern Nechaev and Cherkassy Porechni (both northeast of Suja); and in the fields south of the village of Spalnoe (southeast of Suja).
Russian bloggers claim that units of the 810th Marine Brigade (Pacific Fleet, Eastern Military District) have cleared Spalnoe and regained control of the village.
The Russian Defense Ministry and other Russian sources claim that Ukrainian armed forces also attacked east of Korenevoy near Olgovka, north of Suja near Mala Lokna, east of Suja near Russkaya Konopelka, and southeast of Suja near the village of Borki.
Meanwhile, another Russian blogger wrote on August 28 that Russians repelled attempts by Ukrainian armed forces to cross the international border near Zhuravlyovka in Belgorod Oblast (southwest of Belgorod and north of Kharkiv).
The President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, the commander of the Chechen special forces "Akhmat“ Apti Alaudinov and other Russian sources admitted that Russian conscripts were fighting in the Kursk region.
The Russian opposition publication "Mobilization Novosti" reported that the command of the Russian army plans to send conscripts from the 290th missile regiment (7th missile corps of the 27th missile army) and the 2187th airborne regiment (98th brigade).
