The government of Lebanon declared three days of mourning in connection with the death of the secretary general of the Shiite party Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah in the result of an Israeli airstrike on September 27.
Prime Minister Najib Mikati, who announced this decision after an extraordinary meeting of the cabinet, called on citizens for solidarity in the face of the danger hanging over the country. “We must approach this challenge responsibly and put political differences aside,” Mikati said in his address. “Our unity is the most powerful weapon against Israel".
