Serbian President Alexander Vucic is hosting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is on an official visit to Serbia, Tanyug reported, quoted by BTA.
According to the program of the visit, today at 11:00 a.m. local time (12:00 p.m. Bulgarian time), an official welcoming ceremony for the Turkish president will be held in front of the "Palace of Serbia", followed by a meeting between the two leaders.< /p>
The fourth meeting of the High Council for Cooperation between Serbia and Turkey is expected to be held at 12:05 p.m., after which there will be an agreement signing ceremony in the presence of the two presidents and a joint press conference.
In the hotel “Hyatt“ a Serbia-Turkey working forum will be held in Belgrade, which will be attended by Presidents Vucic and Erdogan, as well as representatives of companies from the sectors of transport, energy, tourism, finance and the textile industry.
Turkey is the fourth largest importer to Serbia and ranks 14th in terms of exports from Serbia. In the first half of 2024, the foreign trade exchange between the two countries amounted to 1.4 million euros. Exports from Serbia to Turkey increased by 61.6%, and imports – by 10.7% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The last meeting between Vucic and Erdogan was in September in New York, and the last visit of the Turkish president to Serbia – in 2022, when the two countries celebrated 140 years of diplomatic relations.
