The Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the destruction of a Russian military transport aircraft Tu-134, reports "Ukrinform", quoted by News.bg.
According to the official message of GUR in Telegram, the incident happened on the night of October 13, when at the airbase "Orenburg-2" a devastating fire broke out in Russia that destroyed the Tu-134 aircraft belonging to the 117th Military Transport Aviation Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces.
These Soviet-era planes, including the destroyed Tu-134, were used to transport senior officials from Russia's Ministry of Defense. GUR stressed that "every war criminal against the Ukrainian people will receive his retribution.
In addition, GUR was previously reported to have carried out a cyberattack against the infrastructure of the North Caucasus Federal University, which trains drone operators and other specialists for the Russian military.
