Russian intelligence knows who ordered the assassination of Russian General Igor Kirillov, the Kremlin said today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.

Ukraine is using the methods of terrorists, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of Russia's radiation, chemical and biological protection (RCBZ) troops, and his assistant, Major Ilya Polikarpov, were killed in an explosion in an apartment building on "Ryazansky Prospekt" in Moscow yesterday. Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Monday that a 29-year-old Uzbek citizen had been detained on suspicion of the murder, who said he had acted on behalf of Ukrainian special services.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday that Russia would raise the issue of the assassination of General Igor Kirillov "by Ukraine" at the United Nations Security Council on December 20, Reuters reported.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that anyone involved in the murder would be found and punished.
