Russia's massive missile strike on Ukraine: Escalation with cruise and ballistic missiles - 1

The Russian army is currently carrying out a massive missile attack on Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian Air Force and data from monitoring channels, cruise missiles launched from strategic bombers have entered the country's airspace, quoted by News.bg.

At the same time, ballistic strikes are reported in the Kharkiv region, as well as "Kalibur" missiles coming from the south. The air is also patrolled by MiG-31s equipped with "Kinzhal" missiles.

From about an hour before dawn, an air alert has been declared throughout Ukraine. The last major attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure was carried out by Russia during Christmas last year.

According to data from social networks, the main direction of the cruise missiles is towards the western regions of Ukraine. The head of the military administration of the Lviv region, Maksym Kozytsky, warned via Telegram at 7:19 a.m. that the cruise missiles had passed over the airspace of the Khmelnytsky region.

At the moment, there are reports of explosions and air defense activity in the areas of Kryvyi Rih and Cherkasy regions. There is no information yet about the exact hits of the missiles and the damage caused.

Ukrainian monitoring channels report six Tu-95 strategic bombers spotted over the Volgograd region. There are also reports of Tu-22s being launched, which are also equipped with cruise missiles. According to information from "Ukrainskaya Pravda", the Kh-101 missiles were launched from a Tu-95MS aircraft that took off from the "Olenya" airbase in the Murmansk region.

The "Kalibur" cruise missiles passed over the Kherson region, most likely launched from the Black Sea.

Due to the attack, the Ukrainian electricity operator has introduced restrictions on electricity supply. "The electricity operator is taking preventive shutdowns. The enemy does not stop its terror against Ukrainians", wrote Energy Minister German Galushenko on social networks.

The attack also led to a reaction in Poland, where military aviation was activated. According to "European Pravda", the Polish operational command has raised fighter jets into the air, placing them on high alert. The country's air defenses have also been put into active mode.
