US President Donald Trump will not send US troops to Ukraine, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
The US defense secretary also told reporters in Germany that he would insist that European allies spend more on defense when he meets with them this week.
"The European continent deserves to be free from all aggression, but those in the neighborhood should invest the most in such individual and collective defense," Hegseth said.
The US defense secretary also said that he was working with Congress to increase overall US defense spending and downplayed concerns about the upcoming Elon Musk's audit, which aims to uncover billions of dollars in Pentagon abuses.
