The United Kingdom “shares Trump's desire“ to end the war in Ukraine, the British Foreign Office said in a statement, BNR reported.

“We share President Trump's desire to end this barbaric war. However, Russia can do this tomorrow by withdrawing its forces and ending its illegal invasion. "We have always said that we will support Ukraine in achieving a just and lasting peace," the statement from the British Foreign Office reads.

The ministry also indicated that the priority of the United Kingdom is to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position, which is practically a repetition of what Prime Minister Keir Starmer said earlier.

The United Kingdom has prepared a new package of military fire support for 150 million pounds for Ukraine, British Defense Secretary John Healy announced.

This followed an earlier statement by Prime Minister Keir Starmer that his country must put Ukraine in the "strongest possible position".

Amid the prepared talks between the United States and Russia, the British Prime Minister said that the commitment of the government in London to support Kiev was as significant as at the beginning of the conflict, given the uncertainty about the future of war.

In Brussels, British Defense Secretary John Healy, who is chairing another summit of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense, announced a new package of military aid in the form of tanks, armored personnel carriers, drones and air defense systems worth 150 million pounds.

He confirmed that half a million artillery shells worth over 1 billion pounds had already been provided to Ukraine by the United Kingdom as part of the commitments made.

John Healy emphasized that 2025 is the critical year for the war in Ukraine.

"Ukrainians continue to fight with great courage, both military and civilian, and their courage, combined with our support, has proven to be a deadly combination for the aggressor“, the minister said.

According to him, although Russia may appear weakened, it undoubtedly remains dangerous, so the allies must move forward and together secure peace through strength.
