According to Kennedy Jr., only a radical change in the policy of the US Department of Health will allow to correct the situation. “We need someone to stop the food and pharmaceutical industries from dictating health policy any more.“ We will put health policy in the hands of people who really care about the health of the population,“ the minister added.
The new US Secretary of Health and Human Services was sworn in on February 13. The ceremony took place in the Oval Office of the White House in the presence of President Donald Trump. The American leader assured that Kennedy Jr. is "an ardent defender of children's health, freedom of speech, democracy and peace". Trump also noted that every year more and more people are getting sick in the US and stressed that the new minister must deal with this problem.
