German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called today after an informal meeting of European leaders on Ukraine in the French capital Paris for unity between Europe and the United States in responsibility for Ukrainian security, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Sholz's comment was on the occasion of US efforts to start talks with Russia without consulting the European Union.
"There should be no division on security issues and responsibility between Europe and the United States," Scholz said after today's emergency summit, organized by French President Emmanuel Macron.
"In other words, NATO is founded on the basis of always acting together and sharing the risk, while ensuring our safety accordingly. "That should not be doubted," Scholz added.
