The European Union may grant Ukraine access to the European Galileo satellite data transmission system, a European Commission spokesman said today in response to questions related to the risk of disruption of Ukrainian military access to the Starlink service, BTA reports.
The spokesman pointed out that the European system is scheduled to become operational this year and reach full capacity by 2030. According to him, these deadlines may be accelerated.
He explained that the system consists of satellites from France, Germany, Italy and Luxembourg. This European system was created primarily for the exchange of confidential data between European governments.
It is important to remain united and firm in our support for Ukraine, the spokesman said. He added that the US remains an ally for the EU.
