Ukraine may withdraw its troops from the Kursk region within two weeks, the New York Post reported on Friday, citing Ukrainian military officials.
According to them, the attack on the Kursk region has "political significance", but leads to disproportionate losses. In addition, it has attracted key resources of the Ukrainian armed forces, while Russian troops continue to advance.
The massive attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the Kursk region began on August 6, 2024. A federal state of emergency is in effect in the region. Residents of border areas are being evacuated to safe areas. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Kiev has lost more than 64,000 servicemen since the start of hostilities in the Kursk direction.
