The European Union is preparing to send Moldova a new batch of non-lethal military equipment worth 40 million euros. According to Moldovan media, this decision was made on March 18 during a meeting of EU ambassadors in Brussels, News.bg reports.
The aid includes 33 "highly mobile tactical vehicles", which will replace Soviet equipment and provide better mobility for three infantry brigades.
The meeting also discussed the future decision on whether to deliver anti-aircraft batteries to Moldova. These are short-range air defense systems consisting of eight missile launchers worth 20 million. euros.
EU ambassadors confirmed this aid package two weeks after the President of the European Council, António Costa, announced military aid worth 60 million euros during his visit to Chisinau.
