Russia strikes railway power system in Dnipropetrovsk region - 1

Russian forces attacked the power system of the Ukrainian state railway network in the Dnipropetrovsk region this morning, just hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin promised not to strike Ukrainian energy infrastructure, Ukrinform and Reuters reported, BTA reports.

“On the morning of March 19, the enemy attacked the railway power system in the Dnipropetrovsk region with drones. There are sections with power outages, but trains continue to run according to schedule“, the Ukrainian state railway wrote on Telegram.

“While the damage was being repaired, the enemy struck again. Fortunately, there were no casualties. An order was issued to send a firefighting train to extinguish the fire at the site. "We are working on restoring the facility," the company's statement also said.

Ukrinform recalls that a few days ago, Russian troops also attacked the railway energy infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions.
