Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today that he will hold talks with US President Donald Trump, Ukrinform reported. He made the statement during a joint press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, BTA reports.
„Today I will talk with President Trump. We will discuss the details regarding the next steps. Our teams had a fruitful meeting in Jeddah. I think everything is moving in the right direction – "except for Russia, which is never happy when things are in order," Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian leader emphasized that Russia is the aggressor in this conflict, which attacked Ukraine.
Earlier, Ukrinform reported that US President Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The conversation lasted about an hour and a half.
According to the Trump administration, during the conversation the Russian side agreed to a partial ceasefire, which affects energy facilities in Ukraine. This is part of the US initiative to achieve peace in the region.
Steve Witkoff, US envoy to the Middle East, said that on March 23, delegations from the US and Russia will hold a new round of ceasefire talks in Jeddah.
