The new transitional government of Syria, the composition of which will be announced in the coming hours by the interim president of the republic, Ahmed al-Sharaa, will consist of 22 ministers, Al Hadath TV channel reported.
The heads of the Interior Ministry, Foreign Ministry and Defense Ministry, who were part of the previous cabinet, will retain their posts.
The work of the government will be led by Al-Sharaa himself, in whose hands, according to the constitutional declaration adopted on March 13, all executive power is concentrated.
Al Hadath sources noted that the government will be inclusive and will include mostly technocratic ministers. The new cabinet will replace the transitional government led by Mohamed al-Bashir since December 10.
The transitional period in Syria will last five years, after which general elections will be held. The legislative framework of the republic will comply with the norms of Islamic law.
