An earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale was recorded early this morning near the Turkish Aegean city of Izmir. This was announced by the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD), quoted by the Anadolu Agency, reports BTA.
The earthquake was detected at 2:18 a.m. local time, with its epicenter located in the waters of the Aegean Sea, in the Gulf of Izmir. According to AFAD, the earthquake was at a depth of 7.28 kilometers.
There are currently no reports of material damage or injuries. Authorities continue to monitor the situation.
