Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski stated in the Sejm that Moscow will no longer be able to dictate the rules to its European neighbors, Channel 24 reported.
He advised Russia to think about preserving its own lands, especially the eastern ones, and not about conquering new territories.
The politician described the international situation as "the most difficult in recent decades".
He emphasized that Moscow will never again rule Kiev, Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn, or Chisinau.
Sikorski advised Russia to take over the management of what, according to international law, is within its borders – “have enough land in 11 time zones“.
"Instead of fantasizing about taking Warsaw, worry about whether you can hold Hyszewski (Vladivostok)", said the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry.
Sikorski said that Russia stole Ukrainian identity by appropriating Kievan Rus, but the first surviving mention of Moscow as a provincial fortress of Kiev appears in 1147.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, described the statements of Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski about Russian territories as a set of absurd theses.
"A classic example of when a person argues with himself, argues fiercely and hopes to defeat the "opponent". A set of absurd theses," Zakharova told TASS.
“As the head of the foreign ministry of a NATO country, Sikorski has a lot to deal with: for example, the problem of the dispute between the alliance partners over ownership of Greenland, the unstable situation in New Caledonia due to the unsuccessful policy of France, human rights violations in the Baltics, the collapse of the German economy and many others“, the diplomat said.
“Without the Polish Foreign Ministry, NATO will not be able to solve these problems. After NATO solves all the problems, let it immediately deal with the EU“, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.
