British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in an interview with The Daily Telegraph that the idea that Europe should pursue a policy independent of the US towards Ukraine is wrong.
„Many people are calling for us to follow a purely European course, rather than a common European and American course. I think that is fundamentally wrong, both in relation to Ukraine and in general. The NATO-based approach has allowed us to live in peace“, Starmer said, emphasizing that members of the alliance should focus on preserving it.
At the same time, Starmer expressed disagreement with several statements by US President Donald Trump, such as pdslr that Volodymyr Zelensky is not responsible for the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine.
In the interview, Starmer also spoke about the need for a long-term ceasefire in Ukraine.
