The Daily Telegraph: US may support peacekeepers from the Coalition of the Willing in Ukraine - 1

The US is probably ready to help the "coalition of the willing" to maintain peace in Ukraine if the conflict is resolved, writes the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph.

According to the publication, representatives of the US administration have offered in private conversations to provide certain security guarantees that London and other members of the coalition are seeking from Washington.

According to information received by the media, this is about logistical and intelligence support from the US. The British government sees this change in the American position on the issue of support for the "coalition of the willing" as a significant step forward.

Back in February, when the United Kingdom announced its readiness to send its soldiers to Ukraine as a peacekeeping force, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized that this required “American security guarantees“, since only US participation would minimize the risk of a new Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Despite this appeal, US President Donald Trump did not confirm his readiness to provide security guarantees.

The publication notes that currently the "coalition of the willing" is discussing the implementation of air and naval peacekeeping missions, the deployment of military personnel on Ukrainian territory, as well as the provision of further support to the Ukrainian armed forces. According to London's plans, work on all these issues should begin immediately after the conclusion of a peace agreement.

Earlier, British media reported that the desire of London and Paris to send their troops to Ukraine is weakening due to the risks involved and strong objections from Moscow. At the same time, the possibility of sending military instructors to western Ukraine, who would be stationed as far away from the demarcation line as possible, is being studied.
