US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that the leaders of India and Pakistan will be able to resolve the conflict "one way or another".
"They will deal with it one way or another. I know both leaders", he told reporters on board his plane en route from Washington to Rome. "There is a lot of tension between Pakistan and India, but that's always been the case", the American leader added.

On April 22, gunmen carried out a terrorist attack in the popular tourist town of Pahalgam (Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir). The attackers, dressed in khaki, opened fire with machine guns. 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali were killed and many others were injured. The attackers managed to escape.
Indian intelligence agencies have found evidence of the involvement of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in the attack, The Hindustan Times reported, citing its sources.
Following the terrorist attack, Indian authorities almost halved the number of people in their embassy in Islamabad, declared military advisers to the Pakistani diplomatic mission in India persona non grata and closed the key Attari checkpoint on the border with Pakistan.
Indian authorities also suspended an agreement with Islamabad on the sharing of water resources, and the government decided to immediately stop issuing visas to Pakistani citizens and cancel those issued before April 27.
Pakistan's National Security Council said it was suspending all bilateral agreements with India and noted that it would perceive any attempt by India to divert water from the Indus River as an act of war.
In addition, Pakistan closed its airspace to India, the Wagah border crossing, and declared Indian defense, naval, and air force advisors persona non grata. According to a report by the Pakistan National Security Council, there is evidence that India sponsors terrorist groups in the country.
