Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said he was pleased with the progress of talks with the US to resolve the crisis over Tehran's nuclear program, but was cautiously optimistic about a future agreement with Washington.

"We are pleased with the progress of the negotiations, both sides are serious. I am optimistic about reaching an agreement, but I am reserved," he told reporters after the third round of talks.

Araghchi said the dialogue had moved into a more serious atmosphere, but some differences had emerged, so the parties needed to hold additional internal consultations.

“The third round of talks turned out to be more serious than the previous ones, we are gradually entering into technical details,“ he said.

According to him, the next round of talks could involve experts from the IAEA.

The talks will continue on May 3, when another high-level meeting is scheduled.

"Today's talks between the US and Iran revealed a shared desire to reach an agreement based on mutual respect and strong commitments. Key principles, goals and technical issues were discussed. "Talks will continue next week, with another high-level meeting tentatively scheduled for May 3," Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi, who is acting as a mediator in the negotiation process, wrote in X.
