Israel shelled one of the hostage sites in the Gaza Strip - 1

The Palestinian movement Hamas reported on its military wing's Telegram channel that Israel had shelled one of the hostage sites in the Gaza Strip.

The radicals said they were currently carrying out rescue operations at the site of the attack and searching for hostages. There is no information available on how many hostages were in the area that was shelled. The footage released by the group shows, as the radicals themselves claim, an Israeli hostage they rescued from under the rubble. The young man in the video complains of pain and difficulty breathing. His name and details of his health condition were not disclosed.

Israel and Hamas agreed on January 15 to release the hostages held in Gaza and to introduce a ceasefire in the enclave. The three-phase agreement came into effect on January 19, with the first phase ending on March 1. It was assumed that during this time the parties would agree on the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire, but this did not happen.

On March 18, the Israeli army resumed military operations in the Gaza Strip, launching massive strikes against the enclave. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained this by the rejection of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas by the proposals made during the negotiations by the mediators and the special envoy of the US President, Stephen Witkoff, stating that the purpose of the operation in the sector was to free all hostages. The radicals accused Israel and the US of the renewal of military operations.

According to the latest information from the Israeli side, Hamas and its allies continue to hold 59 hostages in the Gaza Strip.
