Not everyone believed in the success of the Spanish brand Cupra, which debuted in 2018 and "separated" from Seat, but, contrary to skeptics, it demonstrated phenomenal dynamics - sales increased from 14,000 cars in 2018 to 230,000 last year. In total, the company has sold around 650,000 cars since its inception as an independent brand.
In the near future, the company intends to expand the range of offered models. Already next year, the brand's portfolio will include the Leon, Formentor, Born, Tavascan, Terramar and Raval, as well as a new model that will be based on the 450-horsepower Dark Rebel concept presented last year. The sports car is already in development, and company CEO Wayne Griffiths is optimistic about the future.
„There are two important levers to increase the value of the Cupra brand from today's $1.7 billion to $4 billion by 2030: firstly, we need a car that represents our brand, so I would like to turn the Dark Rebel into reality. The other is global, because to create that level of brand value, you have to be a global brand. For us, this means entering the American market by the end of the decade."
