The first production Audi without the characteristic four rings on the grille has been presented. The E5 Sportback, the firstborn of the joint venture between Audi and SAIC, debuted in China using the new Advanced Digitized Platform. The electric car will receive units with a power of up to 787 horsepower, will be able to accelerate to a hundred in 3.4 seconds and travel up to 770 kilometers without recharging.

The AUDI E concept, presented simultaneously with the launch of the AUDI brand in China, has been transformed into the series-production electric car E5 Sportback. It is built on the Advanced Digitized Platform architecture, jointly developed by Audi and SAIC, and is integrated into the local component supply chain. For now, the fastback will be sold only in China. The choice will be offered in versions with power from 299 to 787 horsepower, with rear-wheel or 4x4 drive and an 800-volt battery with a capacity of up to 100 kilowatt hours. The maximum range on a single battery charge is 770 kilometers.

The main, but only, difference between the E5 Sportback and ordinary Audis is the design, which takes into account the preferences of Chinese buyers. All functional equipment is integrated into the black strips at the front and rear - from the lighting equipment and sensors of the assistance electronics to the radar and the spoiler. Instead of the traditional Singleframe radiator grille, there is the AUDI Light Frame, made up of more than a thousand small triangles.
