The Swedish government intends to contribute an additional 300 million kroner (28 million USD ) in the government agency Swedfund, which deals with investments in the economies of other countries, to increase investments in Ukraine, the Ministry of Cooperation and Foreign Trade reports.
The message says that aid to Ukraine is one of the main priorities of the government and its supporting parties.
"Additional capital in the amount of 300 million crowns contributes to the development of a strong and sustainable economy in Ukraine. Swedfund is already an important player in Sweden's development cooperation with other countries. By increasing capital, we are increasing investment opportunities in this country and strengthening its ability to withstand and recover,” commented the Minister of Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Johan Forsel.
The Cabinet of Ministers proposes that the Parliament authorize it to decide on a capital increase of a maximum of 300 million kroner for investments in the Ukrainian economy in 2024.
