Inflation in Germany slows down further in March to just 2.2% annually. These final figures were published by the German Federal Statistical Office.

In February, inflation reached 2.5%, in January - 2.9%. “This means that the inflation rate in March 2024 was as low as in May 2021 (also +2.2%), an even lower value was previously recorded in April 2021 (+ 2%)", reported by the Federal Statistical Office. “Inflation has fallen again,” said the head of the service, Ruth Brandt.

Compared to the previous month, consumer prices rose by 0.4% in March.

The German economy is going through a serious crisis. The GDP of the country decreases in 2023 compared to the previous year by 0.3%. Experts from the German Federal Statistical Office noted at the end of last year a decline in the purchasing power of the population due to the rise in consumer prices.
