About 3.7 million business tourists visited Moscow in 2023, which is 7% more than a year earlier, the press service of the capital tourism committee announced.
As the chairman of the commission Evgeny Kozlov noted, business travel is one of the most promising areas for tourism development. It is important to the city from an economic point of view as it encompasses many related industries, from the hospitality sector to the entertainment industry. "It is also a source of returning tourists. About 40% of business guests come back to Moscow to relax with their family”, Kozlov said.
The chairman of Mosturizma also noted that in 2023, Russian business tourists spent an average of 16% more than guests of the capital who came to visit friends or relatives. The average check of foreign business travelers has increased 1.3 times compared to 2022. Moscow meets the high standards of business tourists and provides a developed transport infrastructure, affordable high-speed Internet and innovative venues for large-scale business events.
The city also follows the trend of combining leisure and work with business travel, business and event tourism. The advantages of the capital for such a trip are a variety of gastronomic establishments for every taste (21,000 restaurants, cafes and others), almost 2,000 hotels and opportunities for a cultural program at any time of the year. In Moscow, there are over 150 non-standard places for holding business events: museums, parks, theaters and others.
