Italy is ready to invest billions in Africa's energy transition  - 1

Italy expresses its readiness to invest over 6 billion. USD in the energy transition of African countries, reported the ANGOP agency with reference to the Italian ambassador to Angola Cristiano Gallo.

Rome is allocating these funds to clean energy projects as part of the ongoing energy transition around the world, the ambassador said at the Innovation and Energy Transition Conference, organized by the Angolan National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels together with the Trade and Industry chamber Angola – Italy.

The diplomat did not specify what part of the 6 billion dollars is intended for Angola, but noted that several Italian companies have shown interest in investments of this kind in the country's energy sector. We are talking about the introduction of new technologies that reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. According to the ambassador, these companies have already started feasibility studies and are presenting energy transition projects to the Angolan government that could be financed by Italy.

Rome, as the ambassador indicated, also intends to strengthen cooperation with the Angolan government in the field of economic diversification, especially in the energy sector with the help of ENI.

For his part, the Executive Director of the National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels of Angola, Artur Custodiou, emphasized Luanda's determination to achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050, relying on the help of various partners, including Italy and France.
