U.S. trading oil inventories fell 1.4 million barrels on the week to 422 million barrels as of December 6, 2024, the US Department of Energy said.
The ministry clarifies that the current level of reserves is 6% below the 5-year average for this time of year.
At 6:30 p.m., the price of February Brent oil futures on London's ICE exchange rose 0.89% to USD 72.83 a barrel, and the price of WTI oil futures for January delivery rose by 1.15%, to 69.38 USD per barrel.
