After nine elections for the chairman of “Democratic Bulgaria” themselves block the process in the state, the unblocking of the 51st parliament and the start of the legislative program, the reform of the judicial system and the suspension of the election of a new chief prosecutor. Today, with the votes of the DB, there would already be a regularly elected chairman of the National Assembly. It would have been the most logical choice – Assoc. Dr. Silvi Kirilov. I use the opportunity to thank "Vazrazhdane" who, despite the differences between the parties, think beyond the party and did not allow the behind-the-scenes plan to block the work - to have two figures preferred by Borisov in the run-off, and somewhere behind the scenes Peevski continues to have his own interest in the continuation of the parliament with blockage. This was stated by Stanislav Balabanov from “There is such a people” in front of journalists after another failure of the deputies to elect a speaker of the parliament.
„The plenary day continues tomorrow. In the end, DB have to answer one essential question – how long will they continue to lie to all Bulgarian citizens. And secondly, to think sensibly and tomorrow finally answer why they lied today, saying that if Gen. Atanasov will not be supported for the Speaker of the Parliament, they will support anyone who signed the declaration on the sanitary cordon. As you know, only ITN signed. Our representative was in the run-off, DB again did not support us”, he reminded.
According to him, there could have been 119 votes today, 120 in a re-vote, and Silvi Kirilov would have been elected as the chairman of the National Assembly.
„Since he has not been elected, January 16 is approaching, Borislav Sarafov is conveniently waiting to be elected. The main culprits of today's situation are DB and Yavor Bozhankov – Peevski's apprentice, does the dirty work. But for the rest of his life, the children, the family and the Bulgarian citizens will ask him why he allowed in this way, why he did not help the parliamentary republic and democracy to start its work at an important moment for the state.“
„ With these games happening in the rooms of BSP and DB, it is possible that the same thing will happen again tomorrow, but we are betting on reason. I don't know how long we have to hope for a handful of people to think statesmanship. If they continue to demonstrate such a vote this week, I don't know in the next elections whether they will find support from the people on the streets, Balabanov also said.
