“The case dates back to April 11 – late in the evening on my way home. I was stopped for a routine check and was tested for alcohol and drugs. In fact, it all started a little earlier, when I was with friends and we were sitting on a bench. The law enforcement agencies came and started searching us. They found nothing. A little later, when I left in the car – I was stopped. My car was searched for drugs and I was told that "I am suspiciously clean". This is what Petar Varbanov said.

According to him, after they found nothing in the vehicle, he was given an alcohol test, which came out negative. However, when tested for drugs - the result was positive. "I immediately asked to be taken for a blood test. It came out 9 months later and it was negative. My car is in a penal parking lot in Ruse. When I received the test results, I went to the police, but they told me that they could not return my car and driver's license without a notice from the prosecutor.

Varbanov explained that this is a document that he must go and get and present to the police.

Nova contacted the prosecutor's office and they explained that they had not received a request for the return of the car and driver's license. On January 17, Petar Varbanov's lawyer filed a request for a transcript of the expert report in order to conduct administrative proceedings, in the course of which the return of material evidence, that is, the car, would be requested.
