The state should not allow the ERPs to become monopolists and determine people's lives. Prime Minister Zhelyazkov is wrong, because the large retail chains and the parliament are presenting themselves as an organized crime group. It is clear that there is speculation in the market. This was stated by the leader of VMRO and former Minister of Defense Krasimir Karakachanov in the program “Face to Face“ on BTV.
“When you see that retail chains do not pay taxes, drain profits through subsidiaries, you have to intervene“, he was categorical.
“Is it normal for the same food products in Bulgaria to be many times more expensive than in other European countries? The government is interested in higher prices, because it is taxed with 20% VAT. That is why the Prime Minister comes out and tells you that there is state intervention and it should not be allowed. Retail chains are robbing Bulgarian citizens“, emphasized the leader of VMRO.
“Retail chains have been speculating for a long time, where the state allows them“, pointed out Karakachanov.
He gave the example of France, where the state stimulates local producers, and in Italy there is a price limit. It is not normal for speculators to profit at the expense of Bulgarian consumers. The state must protect its citizens. Sanctions need to be imposed on traders who raise prices. If the state does not intervene, then who will? Well, let's declare anarchy and let everyone get on with it!“, said the leader of VMRO.
