The chairman of the Economic and Social Council, which unites business, unions and citizens, Zornitsa Rusinova, said that the organization does not see any problems related to Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone, but on the contrary - positives from this step, NOVA reported.
„We are the only independent advisory council that has analyzed how Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone will affect income and inflation. Last week, we issued a resolution calling on the cabinet to proceed with the extraordinary convergence report - which has already been completed. We do not see a problem, on the contrary, both the unions and the citizens see the positives of entering the eurozone“, she stated.
“Our main emphasis is on both businesses and people having information about the steps they need to take from now on. That is, consumer issues“, Rusinova specified.
A few days ago, the Economic and Social Council presented the results of an analysis of the pension system to deputies and institutions. “By 2050, the number of workers will equal that of pensioners. This is one of the Council's major concerns. The analysis gives us several dozen pages with specific proposals“, the expert announced.
The Economic and Social Council has existed for more than 20 years. “It is one of the democratic steps that Bulgaria has taken to enable businesses, unions and non-governmental organizations to participate in the state's consultative process in everyday life,“ she explained.
She specified that the most valuable thing about the analyses prepared by the Council is that before the specific document was released, the debate found a common opinion between the parties.
