The Ministry of Tourism is imposing a penalty of the maximum amount, namely 5% of the concession fee for the current year, on the concessionaire of the "Butamyata" beach near Sinemorets. The reason is that violations of the terms of the concession agreement were found.
The inspection was carried out by officials from the specialized administration of the ministry and confirmed the findings of the experts from the regional eco-inspection in Burgas.
During the inspection by the Ministry of Tourism, traces of heavy equipment passing by, excavation of the beach area were found, in addition, reinforced concrete belts were poured, some of which have not yet been demolded.
The actions of the concessionaire, found in the inspection, violate the regime for protecting the beach strip - they are contrary to the commitment to exercise due care for environmental protection and have categorically not gone through a coordination regime with the control bodies, including the Ministry of Tourism.
"It is unacceptable to encroach on the natural integrity of the sea beaches. We will be uncompromising towards anyone who violates the rules. Any actions, regardless of the reasons, should be in accordance with all legal provisions and coordination regimes. Taking care of the coast is a duty – not just a contractual obligation", said the Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh.
Minister Miroslav Borshosh explained that meetings with the control bodies in the districts of Varna, Dobrich and Burgas are coming up at the end of the week. The institutions have been invited to present measures and initiatives to guarantee a successful summer season and a peaceful holiday for tourists. Representatives of the municipalities and the tourism industry will participate in the meetings.
