The hearing of the candidates for national ombudsman in the parliamentary committee for direct participation of citizens will take place on Thursday, April 10.
One of the candidates is Dimitar Margaritov - former chairman of the Consumer Protection Commission and former deputy minister of economy and industry. His candidacy was nominated by the "Active Consumers" Association.
He specified to the Bulgarian National Radio that he has a positive attitude towards all those who have held the position in the last 20 years, because they were bright figures who contributed to raising the authority of the institution.
Asked how he feels about the opportunity to become an acting prime minister under the current legislation, Margaritov said that his nomination and motivation are entirely related to the performance of the functions of an ombudsman, but his institutional upbringing has taught him to fulfill his duties.
"There may be such a nuance in the political view of things, but the institution has sufficiently important powers that have not been exercised by the incumbent for a whole year, but by a deputy", he emphasized in the program "Above All".
On the current topic of the war on the roads, Dimitar Margaritov commented that he is "for" mapping of sensitive points on the road network - these neuralgic points should be systematized and monitored continuously.
