The sharp cold snap destroyed the fruit trees in the Sliven region, the farmers in the region sounded the alarm.

Hundreds of acres of cherries, peaches and apricots froze, and the farmers say they are suffering huge losses.

Almost 100% are the losses for the entire Sliven region after the sub-zero temperatures and the snow that fell on the blossoming fruit trees.

People expect help from the state and plan protests if they are not helped for the great losses. Critical situation in Bulgarian agriculture – massive damage from enemies threatens the future of fruit growing.

According to them, this is both an ecological and an economic catastrophe that threatens the future of the entire sector.

Next year there will probably be no peaches, cherries and plums, because the entire harvest has also been destroyed by a pest called the black goldfish.
