Customs inspectors from the Sofia Customs Department found a large amount of undeclared goods during an inspection of a vehicle at the Kalotina Customs checkpoint.
On April 15, 2025, a truck with a Bosnian license plate, driven by a Bosnian citizen, arrived on the “Exit“ route. The truck was traveling from Bulgaria to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After a “risk analysis“ the vehicle was diverted for a thorough customs inspection. During the inspection, various boxes were found scattered throughout the cargo hold, in which customs officers found 411 perfumes of different brands. The goods were not declared and described in the customs declaration and accompanying documents, for which they were detained.
Also found were 80 smartphone adapters, 40 cable chargers, and 20 external batteries, which were also seized due to suspicion of intellectual property rights infringement. The trademark owners will be notified of the case.
