1 lev is now the consumer fee per day of hospital stay, instead of the previous 5.80 leva. This is clear from the decree of April 16 on the implementation of the state budget of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2025. The decision was published in the State Gazette.
We remind you that health-insured patients in our country owe the so-called “consumer fee“ for each visit to a doctor. The consumer fee is 2.90 leva, and pensioners pay 1 leva. The information applies to all medical and healthcare institutions in the country, regardless of whether they are private, state, municipal or with mixed ownership.
„User fee“ is due by patients for each visit to a general practitioner, a doctor from specialized outpatient medical care or a dentist, as well as for each day of hospital treatment, but not more than 10 days per year.
