For 18 years now, Bulgaria has continued to be the country with the lowest minimum wage in the European Union. The trend continues in the first data for 2025 from Eurostat.
At the bottom of the negative ranking, but still with higher minimum wages than our country, are Hungary and Latvia.
Bulgaria is convincingly in last place with a minimum monthly wage of 551 euros or 1077 leva.
The penultimate is Hungary with 707 euros, which is over 28% more than Bulgaria. In Latvia, they receive a minimum of 740 euros, or almost 35% more than us.
Against this background, the highest minimum wages in the Community are those working in Luxembourg, Ireland and the Netherlands. Luxembourg is in first place with 2638 euros - nearly 5 times more than Bulgaria. In Ireland, the minimum wage is 2282 euros, and in the Netherlands - 2193 euros, writes bTV.
